Urticaria

In most cases urticaria occurs without causative allergens. Unless one comes  a preceding episode to mind, such as having eaten something for the first time in life or touching an animal, it is most likely to have nothing to do with allergy. There is itchiness, wale, and insect bite-like lesions.

Oral antihistamines are the main stream of the management. Topical medicine does not work. Alcohol ingestion, warm bathing, and rubbing hard when washing the body aggravate the symptoms also worsens the symptoms.  It may prolong for a few years while taking oral antihistamines. If changing the dose and the type of antihistamines does not control the symptoms, the injection biologics called omalizumab may be used.
