Painful and itchy and purple rash occur on the fingers, toes, earlobes, and cheeks. It is more common in the beginning of the spring than the beginning of winter or mid-winter. It is seen even in the southern areas of Japan. 

 The management includes oral Vitamin E and topical steroid. Chinese medicine may be added.
