If you fall and the skin gets peeled off partially, the skin may be put on the original position and  it may take as a grafted skin if an appropriate procedure is taken soon after the injury. If the injury occurs, put Vaseline on to the wound to avoid drying and come see us. In case there is complete skin defect and the removed skin is lost, topical ointment is used and a large or functionally important area such as at a joint may need to be treated surgically with skin grafting and a skin flap. Skin ulcer on the stasis dermatitis on the shins is difficult to treat surgically (refractory ulcer). One may need to be admitted if the skin defect is large and needs to be stabilized after the surgery. Refractory ulcer need to be managed at a special clinic.
