Hand Dermatitis
Dorsal and palmar sides of the hands may have red macules, papules, and plaques. They may swell with blistering, weeping, and fissuring. Use of water is the main cause, and other factors include detergents (hand soap), solvent, rubber globe, acids, alkalis, cold, heat, and friction.
Management of the condition requires moisturizing agents, topical steroid, and zink oxid ointment, as well as avoiding the above mentioned causes. If one suspect a specific agent as the aggravating factor, a patch-test may be conducted.
